Timelines and deadlines

I'll be sending out an email to all clients who might want prints before the holidays... but just so that it's out there, let me give you my timeline for the next little while so that you are not caught by surprise. My lab is also very busy at this time of year and I have to make allowances for their turnaround time.

Prints (straightforward stuff, not digital collages or other composites requiring design) allow 2-3 weeks.

Composites (for example a print with more than one image or text on it) It will take a week to do the following: for me to receive the order, design it, send it to you for approval, make any changes. After your approval of the design another 2-3 weeks to get it in your hands.

Albums. Two weeks for you to get the design, and then allow 3 weeks AFTER approval of the final design by you.

Also, I'm (finally) taking a vacation the first week of November. So any orders received Oct 31 - Nov 9 will not be worked on until after Nov 9. We're talking about a 5 week turnaround time for albums not including deliver - please order your albums by Nov 20.

First of all, blogging regularly takes a lot of discipline... I guess it's just like anything else you decide to devote yourself to!

This was another busy weekend, with plenty sports action and family portraits.

Little Stella was an active subject! We went to Glendon college for the photos -- the same location mom and dad had their wedding photos taken (too bad, that was before I knew them!). Thank you Mai for referring the Brady family to me!

Marg and Peter have been married for 10 years but still act like newlyweds. They were a fun couple to photograph and picked a great location (St. James park) just around the corner from their condo.

Michelle and George

Congratulations Michelle and George!

Michelle and George are a fun, stylish couple who were surrounded by loving family and friends. A lot of great things - the church Eglinton St. George United, has front steps designed specifically for taking large group photos. I was informed of this by Reverand Robert Oliphant, after he helped organize the 130+ wedding guests on the steps and provided me with a step ladder!

The ceremony itself was lovely, incorporating elements of Michelle's Philipino traditions, such as the binding by the cord, exchanging coins, and joining by the veil. The reception was at the Boiler House, in the distillery district. Cupcakes were created by Andrea Atkinson (who referred Michelle and George to me, and whose wedding I photographed this August!)

Revive Decor alive!

It's exciting to see my photos being put to 'real' use...

Visit www.revivedecor.ca to see my first foray into product photography. Rola and Sonia are two moms who have turned their dream of owning their own business into a reality. They offer beautiful home decor pieces at affordable prices. Best of all, they come to you in the comfort of your own home. You just have to host a party.

Visit Dooney's cafe on Bloor Street, just east of Bathurst to see some amazing photography by Colin O'Connor. The black and white prints show the everyday lives of women and children in the internally displaced persons camps of northern Uganda. The photos are all visually stunning, and range from hopeful images, to depictions of more somber scenes. Sales from the photo exhibit benefit GuluWalk.

Thank you Michael for kindly referring Patricia, Ian and Kayla to me! I photographed this young family on Thursday at the park near my house. Kayla is turning one at the end of this month and these photos will be displayed at her birthday party, and also given to the guests as a thank you gift.

Well tomorrow's a big day, with the wedding of Michelle and George. They are a great couple to work with and I look forward to shooting their wedding!
